Description: Story of a revolution. And not just any revolution: one by a country that is trying to achieve “radical change without sinking into violence and repression.” The impetus for change is president Hugo Chavez, himself inspired by Simón Bolívar who successfully battled the Spanish in 1821. The country is Venezuela. Its wealth comes from oil, ore, arable land, tourism, alliances and especially, a population of “outcasts” in the slums, who become citizens and support the movement. The film presents the enormous challenges facing the country in an incisive and honest manner. Starting with Chavez’s gesture of April 2005, when he distributed 1 million copies of the book Don Quixote, the filmmaker divides the revolution into a series of tableaux, from the seeds of revolution to the war of images.
